Requirements
- Solid Python development skills, understanding async patterns
- Strong understanding of relational and analytical databases
- Deep Linux knowledge (Fedora preferred), OS debugging
- CI/CD pipeline building and maintenance experience
- Familiarity with automated testing (unit, integration, system)
- Experience with AI coding tools, active use in workflow
- Distributed systems awareness, understanding multi-node challenges
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- ClickHouse operational knowledge or contributions
- C++ or C for database engine code contribution
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) with IaC tools
- PostgreSQL operational experience
- Software and network security knowledge
Tasks
- Build and scale managed ClickHouse service infrastructure
- Operate infrastructure relied on by thousands of customers
- Write Python code for database lifecycle operations
- Investigate Linux internals for complex issues
- Ship features via CI/CD pipelines
- Design and maintain backend services in Python
- Work with FastAPI, asyncio, and psycopg2
- Utilize Buildkite and GitHub Actions for code deployment
- Resolve production issues across the stack
- Contribute to technical planning and roadmap shaping
- Write well-tested, type-checked code
- Participate in thorough code reviews
- Use AI coding tools daily to accelerate development
