Validating flight physics for next-gen UAV platforms at a defense prime, designing experimental campaigns with rapid prototyping. Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with focus on experimental fluid dynamics or flight testing
- Hands-on experience with CNC hot-wire foam cutting, 3D printing, CNC routing, or composites
- Ability to design for rapid fabrication
- Extensive background in planning and executing aerodynamic experiments
- Ability to isolate variables and ensure data quality
- Expertise in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) for data processing and report generation
- Proficiency with Matplotlib, Plotly, or Seaborn for data visualization
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python-based hardware interfacing
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or CATIA for design
- Radio Control (RC) flight experience
- Knowledge of Machine Learning or Reduced Order Models (ROMs)
- Experience with Aerodynamic system identification techniques
