Requirements
- Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Informatics, or Computer Science
- Extensive data modeling, architecture, and metadata management experience
- Experience with controlled vocabularies for biomedical domain
- Proven experience managing life sciences or medical data
- Experience with data modeling and high-level ETL pipeline design
- Experience with TopBraid EDG or related ontology management systems
- Basic programming skills in SQL, Python, and SPARQL
- Knowledge of standards like OWL, SKOS, and SHACL
- Deep understanding of ontologies and knowledge graphs
- Deep understanding of semantic data representation
- Knowledge of reference data standards (NCIT, NCBI, SPOR, CDISC, IDMP, USDM)
- Familiarity with technologies such as AWS, Databricks
- Strong grasp of data governance
- Understanding of access rights and user management
- Self-starter, independent yet collaborative
- Detail oriented, structured, process-oriented practitioner
- Reliable project management skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage ambiguity
- Effective communicator with high learning agility
- Capable of translating across multiple domains and stakeholder archetypes
- Capable of translating between business and technical disciplines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Tasks
- Act as a key link between R&D Data Strategy, scientific data users, and IT teams
- Drive development and management of reference and master data in a global data environment
- Support technical establishment of reference and master data assets in OneEDG
- Ensure technical foundation and reference data tools align with business objectives
- Collaborate with standards teams, scientific data users, business data stewards, and IT
- Assess reference and master data needs and usage expectations
- Create and update data structures in OneEDG and MARLAY
- Manage lifecycle of reference data
- Perform limited technical adaptations in OneEDG via user interface
- Support timely and effective delivery of reference data to consuming workflows
- Maintain traceability of reference data
- Create and maintain documentation on data definitions, flows, and models
- Act as an expert guide on reference data
- Train and support R&D teams on tools and technologies
- Contribute to awareness and adoption of data standards and governance principles
