Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record of taking battery systems from concept to production in high-performance robotics, aerospace, or UAV applications
- Hands-on experience with cell characterisation, BMS architecture, and thermal management
- Familiarity with safety compliance standards (e.g., UN38.3, UL)
- Cell selection and testing
- Supplier management and qualification
- Battery safety (thermal runaway mitigation)
- BMS architecture
- Pack packaging and integration
- Regulatory compliance
- Experience at drone manufacturers (e.g., DJI, Skydio, Anduril)
- Experience at EV companies (e.g., Rivian, Tesla)
- Experience at advanced robotics and electrification organizations
- Analytical, safety-conscious, data-driven, and highly structured
- Strong communication skills, particularly for supplier negotiation and cross-functional collaboration

Tasks
- Evaluate and qualify battery cell suppliers
- Define pack configuration and cell architecture
- Lead design of battery safety protocols
- Conduct hazard analyses and ensure compliance
- Design BMS architecture and algorithms
- Estimate State of Charge and State of Health
- Implement cell balancing and protection logic
- Perform hands-on cell testing
- Develop validation plans for abuse scenarios
- Analyse BMS log data
- Simulate thermal behavior
- Manage relationships with cell suppliers
- Ensure technical specifications and quality control
- Build reliable supplier pipeline
- Collaborate with Mechanical Design on packaging
- Work with Firmware on BMS parameters
- Coordinate with external manufacturing partners
