Requirements
- PhD in life sciences, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, pathology-related disciplines, or related field
- Hands-on laboratory experience with single and multiplex immunohistochemistry
- Hands-on laboratory experience with single and multiplex in situ hybridization
- Strong interest in experimental method development
- Strong interest in laboratory innovation
- Mastery of image analysis using Halo, Visiopharm, etc.
- Familiarity with image-based data analysis
- Familiarity with single-cell data analysis
- Basic experience with Python for data exploration or analysis
- Basic experience with R for data exploration or analysis
- Comfortable working at the bench daily
- Curiosity and detail-orientation
- Motivation by emerging technologies
- Collaborative spirit
- Openness to learning across interfaces
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland
Tasks
- Work as a tissue biomarker subject matter expert in clinical studies
- Develop tissue biomarker plans and assays with biomarker and pathologist experts
- Resolve issues related to tissue biomarker assessment in clinical trials
- Contribute to processes for implementing tissue biomarkers in clinical trials
- Collaborate with PCS on tissue biomarker projects
- Innovate technology for human tissue protein assessment
- Build a strong foundation in translational medicine with industry experts
- Participate in blended learning experiences covering conceptual, theoretical, and experiential techniques
- Join a global network of supportive peers and mentors
- Contribute to singleplex and multiplex tissue imaging
- Establish critical in-house capability in spatial data analysis
- Implement singleplex and multiplex immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence workflows
- Perform histology and tissue processing
- Conduct staining and image acquisition
- Support downstream data analysis and standardization
- Deep dive into different areas based on interests and opportunities
- Teach and mentor new fellows
- Gain broad exposure to translational biomarker science
- Develop technical independence and scientific rigor
- Foster cross-functional collaboration skills
- Perform hands-on singleplex and multiplex immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence experiments
- Handle tissue preparation and antibody panel application
- Operate instruments and perform run QC
- Optimize internal laboratory workflows for tissue imaging
- Ensure biological and technical data quality with pathologists and histology experts
- Document and standardize laboratory procedures
- Conduct downstream image and spatial data analysis
- Perform image quality control and preprocessing
- Segment cells and annotate phenotypes
- Conduct basic spatial analysis and result visualization
- Translate laboratory outputs into clear, interpretable results
