Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years aerospace or UAV systems engineering experience
- Strong expertise in system architecture, requirements management, and V&V
- Proven experience leading systems engineering teams
- Proven experience defining aircraft system architectures
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (SC Light UAS, CS-27)
- Strong understanding of aerospace certification environments
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar)
- Familiarity with systems engineering standards (INCOSE, ISO 15288, ARP4754A)
- Strong knowledge of Verification & Validation planning
- Strong knowledge of system testing and integration activities
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to balance technical rigor and practical constraints
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation
- Proactive mindset
- Ability to drive system-level decisions
- Ability to identify technical risks early
- Strong communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to collaborate effectively with regulatory authorities
- Professional English language skills (written and spoken)
- Desirable German language skills
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship)
Tasks
- Lead system architecture and integration for advanced UAV platforms
- Ensure performance, compliance, and successful end-to-end system delivery
- Define and maintain overall aircraft system architecture
- Perform functional decomposition of aircraft systems
- Develop and manage top-level system requirements
- Ensure traceability to subsystem requirements and mission objectives
- Oversee Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and execution
- Ensure compliance with system-level requirements and industry standards
- Lead interface management across subsystems
- Ensure compliance with UAV regulations and certification standards
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams
- Guide and mentor junior system engineers
- Foster a strong systems engineering culture
- Create and update systems engineering documentation
- Participate in risk assessments and safety analysis
- Support airworthiness activities
- Support cross-functional teams and international projects
- Maintain high engineering standards and quality
