Staff System Engineer(m/w/x)
Defining system requirements and product concepts for automotive Battery Management ICs at semiconductor provider for automotive industry. Proven experience in automotive electronics development and Tier-1 ECU environment experience required. Flexible work environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Fluent English communication skills
- Proven experience in automotive electronics development
- Tier-1 ECU environment experience
- Strong background in system architecture and product definition
- Experience with requirements engineering tools (Polarion or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with SPICE-based simulation and MATLAB / Simulink
- Experience supporting functional safety-related development activities
- Solid understanding of automotive battery management systems and power electronics
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) or power management ICs
- Practical experience with ISO 26262 (ASIL-oriented development)
- Experience using Medini Analyze for safety analysis and traceability
- Experience working in international, cross-cultural engineering teams
- Strong analytical skills with system-level, customer-focused mindset
- Product definition of automotive mixed-signal ICs
Tasks
- Define system requirements for automotive Battery Management ICs
- Perform use-case analysis for automotive Battery Management ICs
- Define market-aligned product concepts, applications, and system solutions
- Perform solution and cost trade-off analyses
- Support competitive and scalable product positioning
- Create, structure, and maintain system and product requirements using Polarion
- Develop system and IC architectures
- Define and document functional behavior, operating modes, and safety-related functions
- Analyze circuit behavior, performance, and robustness using SPICE and MATLAB
- Develop reference schematics and layouts based on automotive requirements
- Support functional safety activities across the product lifecycle
- Contribute to safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA)
- Support definition of safety concepts and safety mechanisms
- Use Medini Analyze for safety modeling, traceability, and analysis
- Evaluate architectural decisions for functional safety, reliability, cost, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with global design, verification, safety, applications, and marketing teams
- Contribute to compliance with automotive quality, safety, and development standards
