Description

In this role, you will shape the technical vision for a large-scale AI chat platform, leading the design of systems that support millions of users. You will also mentor engineers and ensure a robust, secure architecture.

Requirements

• •10+ years of backend engineering experience
• •Proven success designing and scaling backend systems for millions of users or high-throughput systems
• •Expert in Java (17+), Python, or Node.js
• •Hands-on expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS or equivalent)
• •Strong experience building and operating mission-critical services
• •Deep understanding of API design, streaming data, and event-driven systems
• •Exceptional communication skills
• •Track record of mentoring and elevating engineering teams
• •Deep knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut)
• •Advanced expertise in streaming platforms (Kafka, Pulsar, Flink, Spark)
• •Experience productionizing LLM-powered systems
• •Prior ownership of multi-region or global-scale deployments
• •Background in performance optimization and latency reduction
• •Familiarity with GitOps, Terraform, CI/CD
• •Experience building enterprise chat or messaging systems
• •Strong understanding of data security and compliance frameworks

Tasks

• •Define and drive technical vision for the AI chat backend platform
• •Lead design of scalable, low-latency distributed systems for 20M+ users
• •Align engineering strategy with business objectives alongside product and AI/ML teams
• •Provide technical leadership and influence design patterns and coding standards
• •Architect and deliver fault-tolerant APIs and services for real-time workloads
• •Champion observability, performance, and resiliency across the stack
• •Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar
• •Lead technical deep dives and design reviews with leadership
• •Embed security, compliance, and cost-efficiency in design from day one
