Requirements

  • Extensive spacecraft model development experience using ECSS SMP (or SMP2) standard
  • Advanced C++ programming and Object-Oriented Design (UML/UMF) proficiency
  • Ability to understand and summarize complex spacecraft technical documentation
  • Strong background in requirements management and tracing
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and leading small technical teams
  • Logical and pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Professional spoken and written English proficiency
  • Familiarity with ESA/ESOC SIMULUS suite and SIMSAT runtime kernel
  • Experience with modern CI/CD tools (Maven, GitLab, Nexus, SonarQube)
  • Knowledge of Space Engineering Standards (ECSS-E-ST-40) and Packet Utilisation Standard (ECSS-E-70)
  • Background in GNSS/Navigation field or satellite AIV
  • Understanding of spacecraft databases (SCOS MIB or EGS-CC CDM)
  • EU or ESA member state citizenship

Tasks

  • Design and develop C++ models for satellite subsystems
  • Maintain high-performance software environments
  • Translate hardware documentation into software solutions
  • Coordinate design, development, and maintenance of C++ code
  • Translate spacecraft documentation into software models
  • Lead software life cycle from design to maintenance
  • Oversee junior engineers and manage task distribution
  • Participate in project milestones and technical reviews
  • Track Review Items for Discrepancies (RIDs)
  • Ensure simulators meet performance demands
  • Liaise with ESA technical leads on software delivery
