Designing and optimizing 5G NR physical layer algorithms for LEO IoT systems, integrating with RF front-end hardware. Significant embedded C/C++ experience with strong 5G NR PHY background required. Work on advanced LEO space systems for IoT.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical, Communications Engineering, or equivalent
- Significant experience as embedded C/C++ software engineer
- Strong background in 5G NR PHY and digital communications
- Experience with SDR platforms and SoC architectures
- Knowledge of MATLAB and Python for PHY development
- Understanding of real-time embedded software constraints
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
- Deep understanding of 3GPP 5G NR PHY specifications
- Experience with NTN and satellite communications
- Experience implementing PHY algorithms on DSPs
- Understanding of link budgets and RF impairments
- Experience with waveform generation and lab bring-up
Tasks
- Design and optimize 5G NR PHY algorithms
- Develop software for modulation and channel estimation
- Implement 3GPP Rel 15/16/17 compliant software
- Integrate PHY software with RF front-end hardware
- Maintain hardware control software using I2C and SPI
- Develop interfaces for SoC accelerators and DSP blocks
- Design software for strict real-time constraints
- Develop on embedded Linux and RTOS platforms
- Optimize PHY software memory and throughput
- Execute PHY-level test cases and validation scenarios
- Verify functionality using 5G test equipment
- Debug complex timing and RF performance issues
- Provide technical effort estimations for development tasks
- Support customer requests regarding 5G PHY features
- Document designs and results in Confluence
- Collaborate with global RF and protocol stack teams
- Follow Agile and Continuous Integration development practices
