- •Master degree in Earth observation, environmental sciences, geodesy, geoinformation, or equivalent
- •Ambition to obtain PhD degree
- •Knowledge of scientific working and Earth observation
- •Specialist knowledge in microwave remote sensing of vegetation
- •Track record of publications and international presentations
- •Excellent programming skills, preferably Python
- •Interdisciplinary and team working abilities
- •Experience in teaching and student supervision
- •Organisational, analytical skills and structured working
- •Knowledge of German and excellent English
- •Experience in acquisition and coordination of projects

Tasks
- •Conduct independent research in microwave satellite-based vegetation monitoring
- •Lead independent project work within the research unit
- •Teach courses and supervise students independently
- •Develop and evaluate new scientific methods and concepts
- •Write project proposals for national and international funding agencies
- •Coordinate and manage funded research projects
- •Handle organizational and administrative tasks for the faculty
- •Support evaluation measures for the research division and department
