- Reasoning about engagement loops, moderation, trust/safety, network effects
- Analytical sharpness
- Define success in numbers, run experiments, data-informed calls
- Strong, direct communication skills
- Precision in writing and speaking
- Ability to push back and keep stakeholders aligned
- Proven ability to lead product autonomously
- Identify problems, build cases, drive to shipped without roadmap
- Experience building privacy-respecting alternatives
- Experience with mainstream social/community platforms
- Familiarity with open-source community protocols
- Background scaling community product to millions of users
- Understanding of community communication around privacy, user agency, trust
Tasks
- Define and drive product strategy and roadmap
- Set and track key metrics for activation, engagement, retention, and community health
- Translate knowledge of online communities into product strategy
- Lead cross-functional team of 6-12 engineers, designers, data, and growth
- Maintain team velocity and address blockers
- Conduct user research and competitive analysis
- Gather and incorporate direct user feedback
- Represent the product to users, partners, and internal leadership
