Designing and leading Human Factors Engineering for medical device user requirements and use-related risk management. MSc in Human Factors or related field, with several years HFE experience in medical/pharma required. Direct influence on critical medical device development and patient safety.

Requirements

  • MSc in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, Product Design, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Several years of job experience in HFE field, ideally in medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Human Factors Engineering including regulations
  • Project Management skills
  • Technical Writing skills

Tasks

  • Design and perform Human Factors Engineering activities
  • Lead the issuance of HFE deliverables
  • Support the development of user requirements
  • Translate user capabilities into design inputs
  • Plan and identify use-related hazards for risk management
  • Manage formative and summative evaluations with vendors
  • Communicate HFE challenges and risks to stakeholders
  • Provide design recommendations based on HFE insights
  • Develop labeling and instructional materials with the design team
  • Establish HFE best practices and share lessons learned
  • Create processes and templates for HFE application
  • Disseminate HFE knowledge within the organization
  • Contribute to publications, presentations, and patents
  • Support health authority communications and submission dossiers
  • Assist with internal and external audits on medical devices
  • Prepare documents for Medical Device registration
