Requirements

  • Scientific background in protein engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, or related field
  • Comfort discussing binding kinetics (KD, kon, koff), expression systems, and assay design
  • Experience in customer-facing technical role (field application scientist, technical sales, scientific account management, or similar)
  • CRO or biotech vendor experience (strong plus)
  • Commercially driven mindset
  • Focus on revenue, pipeline, and closing deals
  • Strong communication skills, adaptable to audience (technical/business)
  • Self-starter, ability to manage pipeline and priorities
  • Genuine interest in AI-driven protein design
  • Awareness of field developments

Tasks

  • Serve as the primary customer contact.
  • Understand protein design team goals.
  • Help customers select appropriate assays.
  • Ensure correct experiment setup.
  • Translate results for customer programs.
  • Lead technical sales calls.
  • Discuss binding kinetics, expression systems, assay design.
  • Onboard new customers.
  • Help design initial experiments.
  • Monitor ongoing customer accounts.
  • Flag account issues early.
  • Suggest next steps based on results.
  • Collaborate with the biology team.
  • Troubleshoot unexpected experiment results.
  • Identify account expansion opportunities.
  • Propose new targets, assay types, campaigns.
  • Manage the full customer lifecycle.
  • Conduct prospecting activities.
  • Close customer deals.
  • Serve as the technical customer contact.
  • Understand protein engineering goals.
  • Recommend binding, expression, thermostability, enzyme activity experiments.
  • Understand assay capabilities in depth.
  • Explain BLI, SPR, cell-free expression, emerging assay types.
  • Determine appropriate assay usage.
  • Interpret assay data meaning.
  • Ensure correct experiment design.
  • Communicate experiment results clearly.
  • Build and maintain a commercial pipeline.
  • Target diverse customer segments.
  • Develop tailored proposals and quotes.
  • Represent Adaptyv at conferences and events.
  • Engage in deep technical conversations.
  • Provide customer insights to teams.
  • Report on assay requests and gaps.
  • Report on lost deal reasons.
