RF System Engineer(m/w/x)
Electromagnetic simulations and RF measurements for particle accelerators. EM theory and simulation tools experience required. 30 days paid leave, family allowances.
Requirements
- Proven experience with EM theory and EM-simulation tools (CST, HFSS) in RF domain
- Knowledge in RF simulations, measurement techniques and methods
- Understanding of beam coupling impedance and collective effects in accelerators
- Knowledge in accelerator physics (asset)
- Spoken and written English or French, learn basics of other language
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in RF-Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
- Master's degree with 2-6 years post-graduation experience
- PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Work in Radiation Areas
- Interventions in underground installations
- Valid driving licence
- Stand-by duty when required
- Work during nights, Sundays, holidays when required
Tasks
- Build models for electromagnetic simulations
- Study beam interaction and propose improvements
- Perform RF measurements to validate simulations
- Collaborate with beam physicists and component teams
