Developing wireless communication prototypes, building RF/baseband test setups, showcasing with Field Applications. Masters or PhD student in EE/related field with C/C++/Python programming ability required. Close mentorship, customer-facing engineering exposure.
Requirements
- Current Masters or PhD student in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (enrolled throughout internship)
- Communications fundamentals (modulation, RF basics, link budgets, system-level thinking)
- Familiarity with 5G/NR concepts, SDRs, RF front-end blocks, antennas, satellite communication, beamforming, JCAS/ISAC, or embedded bring-up
- Exposure to embedded Linux, microcontrollers, or FPGA/RTL concepts
- Programming ability in C/C++ and/or Python
- Demonstrated hands-on problem-solving skills
- Clear technical communication skills
- AI/ML experience
- Experience with lab instrumentation (spectrum analyzer, VNA, signal generator, oscilloscope)
- Interest in power circuits/subsystems related to communications platforms
- Prior work with test automation, data analysis, or tooling
Tasks
- Develop wireless/RF/embedded proof-of-concepts
- Showcase proof-of-concepts with the Field Applications team
- Transform early-stage ideas into working prototypes
- Build and execute RF and baseband test setups
- Perform bend measurements
- Implement test logging
- Develop repeatable test procedures
- Automate basic test procedures
- Analyze cellular (5G/6G) system behavior
- Identify issues with software tools and lab instrumentation
- Interpret analysis results
- Propose next engineering steps
- Implement embedded experiments using C/C++
- Implement embedded experiments using Python
- Enable bring-up data capture
- Support system evaluation
- Investigate technical questions from internal teams or customers
- Summarize findings in clear, actionable reports
- Present technical results to internal stakeholders
- Support the team in customer-facing discussions
