Supporting researchers with HPC and RSE at a scientific computing center. Experience as a trainer in RSE/HPC required. 30 days vacation, remote work possible.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, engineering or related disciplines
  • Sound understanding of modern software engineering practices
  • Ideally experience with research software
  • Experience as a trainer in RSE and/or HPC or related fields
  • Eagerness to expand knowledge
  • Experience in High-Performance Computing
  • Experience with at least one common programming language and tool (e.g. python, C++, FORTRAN, Go, MPI, OpenMP)
  • Very good written and spoken English (at least B2 level)
  • Good German skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary team

Tasks

  • Support researchers in RSE and HPC
  • Develop and deliver RSE training courses
  • Expand and maintain RSE curriculum
  • Gather and share RSE knowledge and technologies
  • Connect people with similar RSE challenges
  • Monitor and evaluate new RSE trends and techniques
  • Inform the community about RSE opportunities
  • Participate in RSE conferences and workshops
  • Contribute to joint RSE position papers and projects
