Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, natural sciences, or environmental sciences with PhD
- Several years of experience in sustainability, LCA, LCC, and S-LCA
- Initial experience in assessing toxicological aspects
- Knowledge of energy technologies, chemical processes, raw material extraction, battery recycling, and toxicology
Tasks
- Conduct life cycle assessments for battery recycling processes
- Compare primary raw materials and recycled materials for sustainability
- Develop toxicity screening approach for battery materials and cell systems
- Validate toxicity screening and link to EU SSbD requirements
- Develop and test sustainability assessment methods at early TRL stages
- Incorporate MCDA approach in sustainability assessments
- Consider raw material criticality, costs, carbon footprint, and toxicological aspects
- Perform life cycle assessments of new battery materials
- Prepare and coordinate interim and final research project reports
