Requirements
- Proven experience with industrial communication protocols

- Nationality of CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Mechatronics, Robotics, Computing or related field, with Master's degree and 2-6 years post-graduation experience, or PhD and max 3 years post-graduation experience.
- No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract
Tasks
- Develop and deploy robotic solutions for experimental facilities.
- Support robotic installation, maintenance, and intervention activities.
- Support VAX robotic installation in CMS and ATLAS.
- Support VAX robotic maintenance in CMS and ATLAS.
- Oversee development, testing, and commissioning of CRANEbot.
- Contribute to preparing and testing ATLAS shielding modification.
- Contribute to executing ATLAS shielding modification.
- Implement offline industrial robot control for machining.
- Define and support intervention procedures.
- Implement robotic control for bases, manipulators, and end-effectors.
- Integrate homing procedures into robotic control.
- Integrate predefined operating positions into robotic control.
- Develop and test robot-environment interfaces.
- Test and validate connections to cameras, motors, and encoders.
- Test and validate connections to routers, computers, and sensors.
- Develop and test robotic machining strategies.
- Implement offline programming for machining strategies.
- Integrate closed-loop vibration control.
- Contribute to defining procedures and documentation.
- Prepare test plans for missions and system validation.
- Communicate with end-users and stakeholders to gather requirements.
- Provide technical support to end-users and stakeholders.
- Supervise student projects related to robotics.
