Designing mechanical components for electronic enclosures in harsh environments at a connectivity solutions provider. Strong CAD systems knowledge and relevant engineering degree required. Employee stock purchase plan, paid volunteer leave.
Requirements
- Degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or comparable technical field
- Ideally, experience in electronic enclosures development for harsh environments
- Very good knowledge of CAD systems
- Experience with PDM, PLM, or SAP systems
- Advantageous knowledge of structural, FEM, or thermal simulations
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly technology
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Fluency in English
Tasks
- Concept, design, and develop mechanical components and assemblies
- Balance cost, safety, and time constraints for developments
- Evaluate design concepts with effort estimations and risk analyses
- Create decision-making documentation for mechanical designs
- Procure and build prototypes for functional and load testing
- Conduct environmental testing to verify mechanical properties
- Prepare detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Generate bills of materials using modern CAD tools
- Collaborate with electronics, software, and industrial design teams
- Derive technical requirements from customer or system specifications
- Maintain design specifications throughout the product lifecycle
- Support projects from initial concept to series production
- Perform design reviews, FMEA, and tolerance analyses
- Manage technical changes for products in series production
- Participate in feasibility studies and structural calculations
- Conduct thermal simulations for mechanical assemblies
- Ensure compliance with ISO and industry safety standards
