Requirements
- Thorough understanding of enterprise-wide trade compliance management
- 15+ years of experience with regional experience, trade automation technology, customs simplification management
- Demonstrable knowledge of trade compliance and customs software and new product launches
- Proficiency in trade compliance and customs program development
- Experience in leadership and strategy
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, planning, international trade or related field
- Customs clerk expert certification
- Fluency in English, both written and oral
- Strong knowledge of European Customs Code and trade regulations
- Experience in managing customs broker operations and trade compliance projects
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record in leading internal teams, cost management, and duty optimization
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
- Global experience in collaboration with teams in various geographies
- Knowledge of auto and electronics industry requirements and customs procedures
- Experience working with ERP and trade compliance systems
- Fluent working knowledge of English
- Willingness to travel, if necessary
- Eligibility to work in EU member countries
- Valid driver’s license
Tasks
- Lead and manage internal teams for import-export and legal documentation
- Ensure compliance with customs processes and authorizations
- Oversee customs valuation, classification, and country of origin determination
- Manage the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) origin solicitation and qualification process
- Analyze products and services for classification purposes
- Support procurement and sales with duty implication analysis
- Manage customs broker operations and ensure proper customs instructions
- Align local risk management frameworks with global standards
- Organize monitoring and auditing of customs clearance processes
- Advise on compliance requirements and related controls
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for customs processes
- Identify and drive cost management and duty optimization activities
- Integrate best practices based on global cooperation
- Build partnerships with customs brokerage firms and government agencies
- Apply for and manage customs rulings and binding tariff information
- Prepare and provide KPIs for customs activities
- Manage training for users on customs valuation and classification
- Participate in customs and trade automation projects
