Requirements

  • More than 5 years production support experience for Db2 z/OS
  • Experience with Data Sharing, Db2 Connect, and IIDR CDC
  • Strong proficiency in JCL, DDL, DML, SMP/E, TSO, z/OS Assembler, REXX, and CLISTs
  • Mastery of CA/Broadcom Db2 tools and utilities
  • Experience with CA-Insight, IBM InfoSphere Optim, and IBM Data Capture
  • Experience with RACF, HSM, USS, and Workload Manager in Db2 z/OS
  • Database performance monitoring and optimization
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong solutions-oriented approach
  • Fluent German language skills

Tasks

  • Provide technical and operational support for IBM Mainframe Db2 infrastructure
  • Manage Db2 z/OS system programming administration
  • Maintain USS objects for Db2 and related products
  • Create, modify, and maintain custom-developed CLIST and REXX utilities
  • Install Db2 for z/OS and related tools
  • Apply Db2 for z/OS maintenance
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for operational support
  • Create database backups
  • Perform database recoveries as required
  • Troubleshoot service issues
  • Identify root causes of issues
  • Provide solutions to service issues
  • Monitor database subsystem performance
  • Devise solutions for performance-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures
  • Support disaster recovery exercises
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Db2 tool vendors
