Head of QC & Analytics(m/w/x)
Defining quality standards for protein assays and building scalable data integrity systems. 6+ years in protein science with BLI/SPR hands-on experience required. Automated lab environment, Python/R programming.
Requirements
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering, or related field
- 6+ years in protein science, analytical development, or QC role
- Deep hands-on experience with protein binding assays, BLI or SPR
- Familiarity with developability and biophysical assays
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
- Proven experience managing large, multi-condition datasets
- Track record of building or improving QC frameworks, SOPs, and data review processes
- Experience at startup, CRO, or high-throughput foundry
- Familiarity with instrument data formats and APIs (Sartorius Octet, Cytiva Biacore)
- Background in statistical process control or equivalent quality methodologies
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven protein design workflows
- Experience with laboratory informatics platforms (LIMS, ELN)
Tasks
- Define quality standards for data integrity
- Build systems ensuring data quality at scale
- Ensure full confidence in data points delivered
- Own end-to-end quality control for protein assays
- Define acceptance criteria and QC metrics
- Systematically enforce quality standards in production
- Establish SOPs and quality checkpoints
- Lead investigations of out-of-specification results
- Resolve assay failures and systematic deviations
- Validate new methods before production
- Work with software team on data processing pipelines
- Define good data parameters for each assay
- Identify gaps in data review workflows
- Articulate requirements for workflow improvements
- Own scientific logic behind QC rules
- Review pipeline outputs critically
- Provide actionable engineering requirements
- Apply statistical reasoning to assay drift
- Communicate findings to software team
- Identify manual bottlenecks in data review
- Replace manual processes with automation
- Collaborate on embedding QC logic in software
- Drive selection of laboratory informatics tools
