Requirements
- 8–10 years in data roles, including 3+ years leading teams
- Progression from analyst/data scientist to data leadership
- Strong product analytics background
- Experience instrumenting products, defining metrics, running experiments, connecting usage to outcomes
- Experience across multiple products
- Comfort with commercial metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, expansion) and business growth connection
- Experience building and growing data teams
- Judgment on hiring, analyst structure, centralization vs. embedding
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and development skills
- Clear opinions on tooling (Looker, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Metabase)
- Startup or scale-up experience, especially during 10–50M ARR transition
- Ability to move fast and make practical decisions
- Comfort in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, insurance) is a plus
- AI literacy, including use of AI tools, LLM evaluation, quality scoring, AI data generation
- Credible partner to AI engineering team without building models
- English as a working language; German is a nice to have
- Combines strategy and execution
- Ability to build function from small start, not needing large team
- Ability to connect product performance and commercial outcomes
- Ability to tell clear stories with data, not just produce dashboards
- Opinionated to improve setup, practical to do in stages
- Comfort working across product, finance, RevOps, and marketing
- Interest in overlap between product analytics and AI quality measurement
- High school coursework

Tasks
- Define the company’s data strategy
- Strengthen success measurement across product teams
- Build the data team and systems
- Assess the current data setup
- Work directly with existing analysts
- Shape the next stage of the data function
- Create a clear picture of customer and product success
- Ensure data supports decision-making
- Set KPIs and north star metrics
- Determine what to measure and stop measuring
- Connect product usage data to business performance
- Turn data into actionable insights
- Conduct quarterly business and product reviews
- Support decision-making with clear data
- Lead a team of senior product and BI analysts
- Develop a hiring plan for the data team
- Grow the data team to 5-6 members
- Shape data support for product, finance, RevOps, and marketing
- Decide on analyst allocation and embedding
- Define the right data tooling stack
- Lead tool migration if needed
- Partner with the AI engineering team
- Evaluate AI output quality
- Measure non-deterministic AI outputs
