Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
- Prior Bachelor’s degree
- Extensive experience providing legal counsel in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Broad knowledge of legal issues in pharma/biotech sector
- Familiarity with medical affairs activities and operations
- Demonstrated people leadership in matrix organizations
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict management abilities
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Knowledge in Administrative Law, Compliance Risk, Litigation Law, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
Tasks
- Provide strategic legal leadership for Medical Affairs
- Set guardrails for non-promotional activities
- Advise on medical governance and design international standards
- Define boundaries between non-promotional and promotional conduct
- Enhance SOPs for Medical/Legal/Regulatory review
- Oversee legal review of medical materials for compliance
- Support frameworks for HCP engagements and advisory activities
- Advise on speaker training and medical education
- Drive innovation in Medical and International objectives
- Monitor legal risks related to AI-assisted content
- Partner with Ethics, Risk, and Compliance to manage compliance risks
- Contribute to audits and regulatory inquiries
- Track industry trends and evolving laws
- Translate changes into practical guidance and training
- Report on key IMA matters to senior leaders
- Foster collaboration with legal and business leaders
- Participate in medical governance bodies
- Lead initiatives to build departmental knowledge and capabilities
