As a Global Category Director for Electronics, you will shape sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization and enhance supplier performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business growth and sustainability goals.

Requirements

• •Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
• •Master’s or MBA preferred
• •10+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
• •Global category management experience
• •Proven track record in cost optimization, supplier negotiations, and risk management
• •Experience in industrial, HVAC, or manufacturing sectors preferred
• •Proficiency in procurement systems (SAP, Ariba)
• •Proficiency in analytics tools
• •Strong understanding of cost modeling, commodity markets, and sourcing best practices
• •Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• •Ability to influence across functions and cultures in a matrixed organization
• •English required; additional languages (German, French, Spanish) a plus
• •Travel ~15–20% globally

Tasks

• •Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy
• •Optimize total cost of ownership through cost modeling and sourcing innovation
• •Lead costed BOM development aligned with product lifecycle
• •Drive dual sourcing and supplier qualification for supply continuity
• •Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers
• •Negotiate long-term agreements focusing on cost and quality
• •Report vendor performance metrics to leadership
• •Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
• •Establish a cross-functional network with engineering and operations
• •Ensure early supplier involvement in new product development
• •Collaborate with sustainability teams for responsible sourcing
• •Maintain expert knowledge of global supply markets and cost drivers
• •Monitor market trends and competitive benchmarks
