Requirements
- Degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering, or related field
- Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and cryogenic systems
- Solid understanding of multiphase flow, heat and mass transfer
- Hands-on experience analyzing propellant behavior at system or architecture level
- Practical experience with VOF or comparable multiphase modeling
- Exposure to microgravity or low-acceleration propellant dynamics
- Experience deriving or contributing to tank pressurization architectures
- Experience abstracting high-fidelity analysis into reduced order models
- Ability to derive propellant management and pressurization architectures
- Capability to quantitatively assess trade-offs between propellant management concepts
- Critical judgement of model assumptions, numerical limitations, and validity ranges
- Comfortable balancing analysis fidelity, computational cost, and timelines
- Clear communication of complex fluid behavior to non-fluids specialists
- Structured, physics-driven problem-solving mindset
- Fluent in English
Tasks
- Analyse propellant behaviour under varying thermal conditions
- Evaluate propellant dynamics during mission phases
- Define propellant management architecture
- Model propellant surface behaviour using VOF methods
- Derive tank pressurization concepts from mission requirements
- Perform NPSP and inlet margin trades
- Analyse propellant routing and valve operability
- Define pressurization and consumables architecture
- Develop reduced order models for vehicle-level trade studies
