Requirements
- Passion for combustion engines
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Advanced knowledge of combustion engines and DVP&Nr methodology
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Extensive experience in cast iron parts development
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for cast iron parts
- Knowledge of design-for-casting for cast iron parts
- Knowledge of failure modes for cast iron parts
- Proven background in engine development
- Component design experience
- Materials knowledge for engine development
- Solid understanding of thermo-mechanical behavior of cylinder heads
- Solid understanding of thermo-mechanical behavior of crank cases
- Understanding of heat transfer in engine components
- Excellent command of English
- Good knowledge of French or German
- Excellent command of MS Office
- Analytical thinking
- Strong leadership skills
- Flexibility in approach to work
- Resilience in approach to work
- Mindfulness of cost and resources
Tasks
- Decide on technical content and timelines for new engine components
- Define technical specifications and key operating parameters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technologies and specifications
- Support FMEA processes and update engine test activities
- Work with suppliers on technology surveys, component development, and tear-downs
- Define maintenance requirements for the subsystem
- Report development status to the platform manager
- Create the master Design and Validation Plan
- Prepare technical releases for components under development
