Requirements

  • Professional experience in electrical domain (power converters, networks, control systems)
  • Experience in safety/critical systems engineering
  • Experience in fire safety domain
  • Knowledge of radioactive environmental conditions and underground facilities
  • Initial experience in IEC 61508/61511 and EN 54 standards
  • Electrical engineering background
  • Safety systems engineering background
  • Quality management knowledge
  • Team working and communication skills
  • Adaptability and anticipation skills
  • National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
  • Work in Radiation Areas
  • Interventions in underground installations
  • Valid driving licence

Tasks

  • Conduct fire risk analysis with safety experts
  • Identify off-the-shelf and custom solutions to reduce fire risk
  • Determine needs and high-level requirements for fire safety systems
  • Design electrical safety systems and cabling/powering requirements
  • Prepare technical studies, cost estimations, and project documents
  • Review documents from other groups and contractors
  • Develop quality plans and documents
  • Monitor project schedule and participate in FCC Technical Infrastructure WG and FCC Safety WG
  • Participate in EN-AA activities for hands-on experience with safety systems

Education

  • Bachelor's degreeOR
  • Master's degree

Languages

  • French – Basic
  • English – Business Fluent
