- Professional experience in electrical domain (power converters, networks, control systems)
- Experience in safety/critical systems engineering
- Experience in fire safety domain
- Knowledge of radioactive environmental conditions and underground facilities
- Initial experience in IEC 61508/61511 and EN 54 standards
- Electrical engineering background
- Safety systems engineering background
- Quality management knowledge
- Team working and communication skills
- Adaptability and anticipation skills
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Work in Radiation Areas
- Interventions in underground installations
- Valid driving licence
Tasks
- Conduct fire risk analysis with safety experts
- Identify off-the-shelf and custom solutions to reduce fire risk
- Determine needs and high-level requirements for fire safety systems
- Design electrical safety systems and cabling/powering requirements
- Prepare technical studies, cost estimations, and project documents
- Review documents from other groups and contractors
- Develop quality plans and documents
- Monitor project schedule and participate in FCC Technical Infrastructure WG and FCC Safety WG
- Participate in EN-AA activities for hands-on experience with safety systems
Education
- Bachelor's degreeOR
- Master's degree
