Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Business, or related discipline
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Master's degree in Economics, Business, Education, or related discipline (Preferred)
  • Previous experience teaching Economics or Business at High School level (IGCSE, AP, IB preferred)
  • Previous experience in international school setting (Preferred)
  • Experience teaching AP Micro/Macroeconomics, IB Economics, IB Business, IGCSE Economics, or Swiss Maturité Economics
  • Experience supervising IBDP Extended Essays
  • Experience as IB examiner, IGCSE examiner, or AP reader
  • ICT literacy (educational tools and mainstream software)
  • English mother tongue or equivalent fluency
  • Working knowledge of French (asset)
  • Clear and confident communication
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Collaborative and effective teamwork

Tasks

  • Teach high school Economics and Business Management
  • Lead a homeroom advisory class
  • Act as first point of contact for advisee families
  • Help students discover strengths and global connections
  • Create a caring and inclusive learning environment
  • Prioritize student health and well-being
  • Embody and promote RISE values
  • Plan engaging, challenging, rigorous Economics lessons
  • Develop existing resources for lessons
  • Teach other related disciplines as needed
  • Develop curricula and unit plans
  • Integrate RISE values and 21st-century skills
  • Consider IB Learner Profile in planning
  • Provide regular formative and summative feedback
  • Ensure active student engagement with feedback
  • Use assessment data to differentiate instruction
  • Inform lesson planning and ensure student progress
  • Collaborate with the humanities department
  • Share best practices and plan lessons in teams
  • Develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities
  • Engage with external teaching communities
  • Stay updated on course changes and guidelines
  • Exchange best teaching practices
  • Set and meet professional objectives using TAPD
