Requirements
- Substantial experience in Data Protection, Legal, Process Management, or Project Management
- Experience working internationally and in matrix environments
- Experience in insurance or banking industry; strong knowledge of insurance risks/controls
- Law degree or equivalent qualification
- Training and certification from International Association of Privacy Professionals
- High-level German and English skills
- Knowledge of national data protection laws/practices; in-depth GDPR understanding
- Advanced legal/regulatory understanding of global jurisdiction and risk areas
- Understanding of AZP Group regulatory and Data Protection environment
- Strong process skills (OPEX or similar)
Tasks
- Support local activities for regulatory compliance.
- Manage oversight of relevant functional areas.
- Serve as the primary contact for data protection matters.
- Safeguard individual privacy rights.
- Ensure integrity of personal data processed.
- Oversee GDPR and German privacy law compliance.
- Monitor internal data protection policies.
- Advise management and business units on data protection.
- Provide expertise on DPIAs and privacy-by-design.
- Advise on regulatory requirements and data subject rights.
- Act as the main contact for German supervisory authorities.
- Manage regulatory communication and inquiries.
- Monitor and coordinate data protection activities in Germany.
- Ensure consistent implementation of data protection procedures.
- Implement data protection tools, controls, and governance.
- Identify, assess, and monitor data protection risks.
- Develop risk mitigation measures.
- Lead and support internal and external audits.
- Handle data protection investigations.
- Advise on personal data incidents and breach notifications.
- Prepare and deliver mandatory reports and dashboards.
- Prepare and deliver maturity assessments.
- Oversee and guide Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
- Advise on PIA methodology.
- Evaluate PIA conclusions.
- Monitor implementation of PIA recommendations.
- Promote and maintain a Privacy by Design culture.
- Embed a data protection mindset.
- Integrate privacy requirements into projects.
- Integrate privacy requirements into products and services.
- Design and deliver data protection training programs.
- Execute training for employees, executives, and Privacy Champions.
- Monitor data protection training programs.
- Identify required Privacy Champion roles.
- Onboard and train Privacy Champions.
- Lead the local Privacy Champions community.
- Ensure strong operational privacy practices.
- Assess AI use cases for compliance.
- Monitor AI risks.
- Support AI incident management.
- Ensure AI governance documentation is completed.
