Requirements
- Interest in complex, data-dense product surfaces
- Strong design taste and sharp attention to detail
- Portfolio of shipped product work
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems
- Deep care for layout, motion, affordances, color, and visual polish
- Self-starter with end-to-end owner's mindset
- Bias to ship and polish through iteration
- Ability to move from ambiguous problem to testable prototype quickly
- Expertise in modern front-end technologies
- Strong communicator
- Ability to build shared understanding across teams
- Experience designing expert tooling for practitioner audiences
- Experience designing data-dense interfaces
- Opinions on making complex information legible
- Experience with application-level frontend concerns
- Background in biotech, research tools, or developer tooling
Tasks
- Collaborate across UX research, visual design, and frontend engineering
- Prototype interactions in code for dynamic experiences
- Ship features with frontend engineers for production readiness
- Design and track experiments for core product surfaces
- Configure ML workflows for design, training, and generation
- Develop data preparation tools and result exploration views
- Understand and translate complex details into user interfaces
- Ensure high-quality transitions, states, and edge cases
- Create visually excellent, data-heavy interfaces
- Maintain hierarchy and visual restraint in dense interfaces
- Implement pixel-perfect visual designs in modern frontend stacks
- Build and adjust components, layouts, and interactions
- Test prototypes with users to align design and engineering
