Requirements

  • •Experience or interest in software development
  • •Experience in data engineering or monitoring
  • •Exposure to Linux, scripting, and Git
  • •Familiarity with network monitoring or performance analysis
  • •Desirable experience with containerised services
  • •Python programming and Linux knowledge
  • •Familiarity with distributed systems and streaming
  • •Advantageous experience or interest in Go
  • •Experience with REST APIs and data formats
  • •Experience with Kafka or Spark

  • •National of CERN Member or Associate State
  • •Bachelor's, Master's, or comparable qualification
  • •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract

Tasks

  • •Design and deploy XRootD monitoring components
  • •Integrate monitoring with CERN and WLCG infrastructure
  • •Validate metrics against network traffic statistics
  • •Automate data quality and anomaly detection workflows
  • •Correlate metrics across distributed computing sites
  • •Collaborate with experiment and site administrators
  • •Ensure framework interoperability, scalability, and reliability
  • •Evolve WLCG dashboards and data analytics services
  • •Utilize GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes environments
