Requirements
- Vocational training (EFZ) as automation technician, electrician, or equivalent with certification to build and wire electrical cabinets independently
- Interest and exposure to design and development of automation
- Solid knowledge of machine safety standards and SUVA regulations, ideally ESTI Certification
- Experience programming PLCs using structured text (e.g. Wago with codesys or similar)
- Experience with cobot integration or programming, ideally Universal Robots (UR) and Polyscope 5 or equivalent platforms
- Ability to create wiring schematics and work from technical drawings
- Structured, reliable, and safety-conscious working style, able to work independently and in a team
- Good communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel to different Destinus sites in Switzerland (max. 20%)
- Thrive in hands-on environment, comfortable working close to hardware, building, testing, and iterating
- Take ownership, figure things out, and push solutions forward
- Strong sense of responsibility for safety and quality
- Natural problem-solving ability
- Seamless collaboration with engineers, practical mindset, focus on getting things done
Tasks
- Contribute to design and development of new automation setups
- Create schematics and design electrical cabinets
- Build and wire electrical cabinets to Swiss/EU standards
- Program and commission PLC for production and R&D
- Support integration and programming of cobots (UR, Polyscope 5)
- Apply machine safety practices per Swiss SUVA regulations
- Install and commission automated machines for rocket motor and pyrotechnic components
- Maintain automated production setups
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system faults
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance
- Update wiring diagrams, commissioning records, and maintenance logs
