Designing and integrating automated setups, including cobots, for defense UAV R&D and production. PLC programming in Codesys and electrical control cabinet experience required. Support for R&D automation transfer to manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent training as an automation technician with a follow-on degree (HF/FH)
- Experience with electrical work including control cabinets, wiring diagrams, and safety
- Hands-on experience designing and building machines or automated setups, from concept through commissioning
- Proficiency in PLC programming in structured text and industrial control systems (e.g. Codesys)
- Proficiency in integrating automation components: servo drives, pneumatics, sensors, and control systems
- Experience with cobot programming, ideally Universal Robots (UR) and Polyscope 5 or similar platforms
- Experience with industrial robot arms (e.g. KUKA, Fanuc, or ABB) is a further plus
- Working knowledge of machine safety standards and relevant regulations (CE machinery directive, SUVA, ATEX, pyrotechnics)
- Structured, hands-on working style with strong ownership from prototype to production
- Good communication skills and comfort working in a cross-functional, fast-moving team
- Understanding of mechanical design principles; CAD tools experience (e.g. Siemens NX) is an advantage
- Thrives in environments where things are built, not just maintained; comfortable experimenting, iterating, and finding solutions
- Hands-on nature, comfortable debugging systems, wiring setups, or refining processes to high standards of quality and safety
Tasks
- Develop automation solutions for R&D and production
- Design machines and automated setups from concept to integration
- Build and test prototypes, iterating for production readiness
- Support R&D automation transfer to manufacturing processes
