Assistant Departmental Safety Officer(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Experience in incident analysis and hazardous situations
- Experience supporting safety prevention initiatives
- Experience contributing to evacuation procedures
- Knowledge of main OHS risks
- Good knowledge of office software (Word, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive mindset, autonomy, and adaptability
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member State
- Max 2 years OHS professional experience post-graduation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in OHS or related field
- No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract
- University degree required
- Work in Radiation Areas
- Interventions in underground installations
- Exposure to electromagnetic fields
- Medical clearance for OHS risks
Tasks
- Implement departmental safety policy
- Identify and prevent risks
- Monitor risks related to activities, infrastructure, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment
- Analyze accidents and hazardous situations
- Contribute to corrective and preventive actions
- Support DSO in implementing safety actions
- Organize planned evacuations
- Participate in feedback and lessons-learned activities
- Draft prevention and safety awareness messages
- Communicate prevention and safety awareness messages
- Take part in safety inspections
- Conduct on-site visits to verify compliance
- Identify areas for improvement
- Monitor action plans
- Promote a strong safety culture
