Requirements
- •PhD or equivalent relevant experience in Physics or related field
- •Proven track record in optical calorimetry for particle physics experiments
- •Demonstrated experience in calorimeter detector tests and data analysis
- •Experience in simulations and optimisation of calorimeter detector designs
- •Demonstrated experience in characterisation of organic and inorganic scintillators
- •Understanding of signal treatment for optical calorimetry
- •Management and coordination of teams, including student supervision
- •Simulation, design and development of detector components
- •Analysis and optimisation of detector performance
- •Knowledge and application of calorimetry methods and techniques
- •Organisation, planning and control including student supervision
- •Structured and organised approach towards work with prioritisation skills
- •Building and maintaining constructive and effective work relationships
- •Taking initiative beyond regular tasks
- •Readiness to absorb new techniques and propose improvements
- •Accurate and objective presentation of information
- •Spoken and written English with commitment to learn French

- •Lead the enhancement of the LHCb ECAL during Long Shutdown 3 with new SpaCal modules
- •Develop and conduct quality assurance activities for the ECAL LS3 enhancement
- •Optimize signal shaping for new SpaCal modules in collaboration with electronics experts
- •Organize test beam efforts and coordinate data analysis within the LHCb ECAL upgrade project
- •Coordinate test beam activities within the LHCb collaboration
- •Engage in R&D on scintillating materials for the LHCb PicoCal and future particle physics experiments
