Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance to start
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years military experience or 15 years military experience
  • JOPES/JPES Functional Manager’s Course certification
  • Two years staff JOPES/JPES experience
  • Understanding of Single Mobility System
  • Understanding of Global Force Management System
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Ideally 1-3 years AFRICOM AOR experience
  • Prior military senior mobility specialist experience
  • Direct experience working in AFRICOM AOR

Tasks

  • Provide expertise to theater-level planning efforts
  • Assist the geographic combatant command with strategic objectives
  • Operate JOPES and JPES systems as a Functional Manager
  • Link planning results to the Global Force Management System
  • Coordinate with USTRANSCOM and component commands
  • Identify and document strategic courses of action
  • Strengthen partner networks and enhance partner capability
  • Address security and stability in key regions
  • Set the theater for AFRICOM initiatives
  • Interact with partners to advance mutually beneficial programs
  • Improve and expand regional security partner relationships
  • Brief operational plans to General and Field Officers
  • Present theater requirements to directorates and command teams
