.XMM/INTEGRAL Instrument Operations Engineer(m/w/x)
Integrating instrument operations into FCT at ESOC, maintaining and developing procedures. Spacecraft operations and flight procedures generation experience required. On-site work, 5-day work week.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering
- Spacecraft Payload and Platform subsystem knowledge
- Experience in spacecraft operations activities
- Experience in Flight Procedures generation and validation
- Familiarity with Satellite Instrument Operations
- Experience with external interfaces (Project, Industry, PDGS, etc.)
- Coordination with other service providers (team player)
- Familiarity with MOIS
- Familiarity with satellite control systems, SCOS-2000
- Familiarity with ESOC environment
- Programming knowledge (Python, Bash)
- CV in Europass format
- Permission to work in the EU
Tasks
- Take over existing operations instrument activities
- Integrate activities into FCT at ESOC
- Maintain instrument procedures
- Develop, change, and test instrument procedures
- Maintain instrument database
- Develop, change, and test instrument database
- Perform instrument anomaly recoveries
- Support special operations for instruments
- Handle eclipse operations
- Develop automation activities for Real-Time-Operations team
- Support calibration and mission planning teams at ESAC
- Provide on-call support
- Execute real-time payload operations
- Maintain instruments and observing modes
- Maintain instrument onboard software
- Support instrument health and performance monitoring
- Execute offline instrument monitoring and trend analysis
- Interface with instrument Principal Investigators for operational issues
- Proactively modernize operational activities
- Transfer and optimize processes
- Introduce modern tools for operational efficiencies
