- Proven track record leading complex data projects
- Exceptional communication skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Very strong hands-on AWS services experience (S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR)
- Proficiency with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
- Strong Python experience for data processing services and APIs
- Expert-level SQL for data processing and analytics
- Hands-on Docker, Terraform, CI/CD experience with automation best practices
- Strong commitment to clean, maintainable, well-documented code with comprehensive testing
- Deep knowledge of analytics/reporting requirements
- Experience designing scalable data architectures
- Data modeling experience
- Optimizing data processing workflows experience
- Experience creating and managing analytics dashboards in BI tools (Tableau, Qlik Sense, Quicksuite, Power BI)
- Data visualization solutions experience
- Experience with contextual and prompt engineering with GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI assistants (beneficial)
- Willingness to learn and grow
Tasks
- Process and analyze terabytes of advertising data rapidly.
- Build robust ETL pipelines using Spark and AWS.
- Maintain robust ETL pipelines using Spark and AWS.
- Design and build scalable data processing systems.
- Develop backend APIs and microservices (Python or Go).
- Architect data flows for batch/real-time analytics.
- Manage user-facing dashboards for data insights.
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems.
- Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Implement CI/CD best practices.
- Maintain high coding standards.
- Lead large-scale data projects end-to-end.
- Bridge technical implementation and business requirements.
- Mentor team members.
- Present technical concepts to stakeholders.
- Challenge project requirements constructively.
- Own complex data engineering projects.
- Ensure high availability and accuracy for clients.
- Champion clean code principles.
- Serve as a data solutions knowledge leader.
