Requirements
- Deep knowledge of launch vehicle structural design/analysis
- Familiarity with military, space, or aerospace standards
- 10+ years of hardware design and development experience
- Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or similar
- Advanced CAD proficiency (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks)
- Strong CAE tools experience (NASTRAN, Optistruct, Simcenter)
- Experience in static, dynamic, modal, nonlinear, stability, fatigue analyses
- Experience with qualification testing, failure investigations, root cause analysis
- Experience in System Design and Systems Engineering practices
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and product data management (PDM)
- Strong knowledge in various manufacturing methods
- Strong engineering judgment and decision-making capability
- Ability to work across disciplines and influence without authority
- Comfort operating in ambiguous or high-pressure environments
- Passion for aerospace innovation, safety, and mission success
- Fluent in English
- Deep knowledge of composite manufacturing processes (winding, hand layup)
- Experience with aerospace mechanisms
- Experience with aerospace thermal subsystems
- Knowledge of launch vehicle propulsion and avionics systems
- Involvement in launch vehicle development programs
- Affiliations with countries listed under § 13 para. 1 no. 17 SÜG may affect application process
Tasks
- Lead product design activities
- Design and analyze launch vehicle structures
- Modify and integrate structural components
- Conduct ground and flight testing
- Research and resolve complex technical issues
- Contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Coordinate across various technical disciplines
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
- Drive technical excellence and mission success
