Principal Consultant - Finance & Transaction Services (FTS)(m/w/x)
Leading finance transformation workstreams for Allianz's internal consulting division, advising senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives. 6+ years consulting experience in financial services required. International mobility, structured growth paths.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years consulting or project management experience, ideally in Finance Transformation within insurance or financial services
- Knowledge of AI frameworks and leveraging AI tools
- Experience supporting M&A activities (financial due diligence, integration planning, post-merger operations)
- Proven track record in Finance Transformation programs and deep expertise in Accounting, Controlling, Risk Management, Actuarial, or Finance Operations
- Strong understanding of Finance processes and ability to grasp complex issues
- Excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Extra-occupational trainings (e.g. CFA, chartered accountant, actuary)
- Experience in shared services/global business services
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- International experience and additional language skills (German or others)
- Genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
- International experience or speaking German or other languages is desirable
Tasks
- Lead critical workstreams in Finance Transformation programs
- Shape the future of Allianz’s Finance organization
- Advise senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives
- Mentor team members to deliver impactful results
- Deliver complex Finance Transformation projects
- Ensure alignment with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes
- Manage client relationships and guide junior colleagues
- Execute project deliverables, timelines, and day-to-day operations
- Support M&A transactions from due diligence to post-merger integration
- Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessment
- Plan and implement process harmonization and operating model alignment
- Report progress, risks, and dependencies to the Engagement Manager
- Provide proactive clarity and action plans
- Anticipate and address potential pain points
- Analyze business needs and design innovative solutions
- Enhance finance processes, operating models, and digital capabilities
- Contribute to pitches and develop solution concepts
- Identify new opportunities for value creation
- Coach and mentor junior consultants
- Foster capability development and a high-performance culture
- Ensure effective stakeholder management
- Maintain strong client partnerships throughout project lifecycles
