Intern within Geometry Generation for Aerodynamic Design(m/w/x)
Developing automated parametric definitions for aerodynamic components, validating data with experimental and numerical simulation at a major aerospace manufacturer. Current MSc enrollment in Engineering/Aerospace or related field, with max 3 years relevant experience, required. Flexible working arrangements.
Requirements
- Enrolled full-time student in Master of Science programme
- Recent graduate with maximum 3 years relevant work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Desire to work in collaborative, international team environment
- Completed university degree BSc and current enrollment in MSc in Engineering/Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology/Data Science, Physics, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with major parametric CAD software (CATIA V5/3DExperience highly preferred)
- Solid foundation in computational geometry, aerodynamics/flight physics, mathematics (linear algebra, calculus), information technology
- Good working knowledge of a programming language (Python highly preferred) for automation
- Experience in CAD scripting environments (major asset)
- Familiarity with geometry requirements and pre-processing for numerical simulations (CFD)
- Interest or experience with ML/AI applications (NLP/LLMs) (significant asset)
Tasks
- Manage and organize design variants in the component repository.
- Develop automated parametric definitions for aerodynamic components.
- Simulate and post-process results.
- Perform aerodynamic assessments.
- Validate data using experimental and numerical simulation data.
- Collaborate with transnational project teams.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines.
