Engineer for Aerodynamics(m/w/x)
Developing aerodynamic models for aircraft performance and handling qualities at aerospace manufacturer. Expertise in digitalization topics (data fusion, ML, cloud computing) required. 6 weeks vacation, employee stock options.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
- Sound understanding of aerodynamics
- First experience in aerodynamic numerical simulations, Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind tunnel test, or flight test
- Expertise in digitalization topics such as data fusion, surrogate modeling, model-based system engineering, big data analytics, machine learning, and cloud computing
- Good working knowledge of a programming language, preferably Matlab or Python
- Knowledge of CFD, CAD, meshing, turbulence models, and limitations would be an advantage
- Familiarity with data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence would be an advantage
- Aptitude for complex problem solving and innovation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Team-oriented mindset with strong customer focus
- Fluency in English mandatory, good German skills beneficial
Tasks
- Deliver aerodynamic models and data for loads assessment
- Assess aircraft performance and handling qualities
- Contribute to the design, optimization, and validation of aircraft shapes, structures, and systems
- Define future aerodynamic processes and technologies
- Collaborate with transnational project teams to secure multi-disciplinary design solutions
- Meet customer requirements while ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery
- Apply data science methods to solve aerodynamic business tasks
- Utilize data analytics, machine learning, and model-based system engineering
- Provide aerodynamic support to manufacturing plants and airlines
