Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer(m/w/x)
Designing GNC subsystems for aircraft-like reusable space launch and hypersonic transport. Strong background in flight control theory and trajectory optimization essential. Hands-on software/hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Requirements
- Aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.)
- Several years of professional or research experience in flight dynamics, GNC, or related fields
- Strong background in flight control theory, trajectory optimization, dynamic system modeling and guidance methods
- Strong programming skills (MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python) and modeling/simulation experience
- Proficiency in English and German (spoken and written)
- Ability to independently solve complex research and engineering problems
- Excellent analytical skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset
- Proactive, motivated, flexible, and resilient, with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced startup environment where innovation and ownership drive impact
Tasks
- Design and analyze GNC subsystems for UAVs and spaceplanes
- Simulate, optimize, and analyze trajectories for complex flight profiles
- Develop nonlinear 6DOF flight dynamic models
- Create mathematical models for aerodynamics, sensors, actuators, and propulsion
- Design and code flight control algorithms, and conduct software/hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Support the selection, integration, and verification of GNC sensors and components
- Develop advanced guidance algorithms for automated UAVs
- Participate in ground and flight test campaigns, including planning, execution, and data analysis
