Requirements
- Higher technical education (e.g. HTL) in electronics and communication engineering, or equivalent
- Relevant work experience as a conference/communication technician
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with higher technical education
- At least 3 years of relevant experience with first/second-level university degree
- Experience in utilizing modern measuring instruments and special tools
- Knowledge of trade techniques, new equipment, and work processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet
- Fluency in German and English
Tasks
- Manage technical operations of conferences
- Operate conference and simultaneous interpretation equipment
- Record speeches and maintain logbooks
- Operate data projectors and coordinate with BMS units
- Assist interpreters with booth equipment
- Provide technical clarification
- Ensure conference service equipment is operational
- Operate video conferencing systems
- Establish audio/video connections for remote conferences
- Support remote interpretation
- Produce digital multi-channel audio and video recordings
- Prepare conference rooms for smooth technical operation
- Perform system tests according to checklists
- Verify functionality of microphones, earphones, and interpretation channels
- Set up relay interpretation when required
- Transport and install audio-visual equipment in small meeting rooms
- Adjust and operate data projectors and audio recording devices
- Operate equipment for radio-studio-type activities
- Record on-site and remote interviews
- Operate AV equipment in the Press Briefing Room/Media Hub
- Arrange recordings and stage lighting
- Perform general maintenance and functional checks on equipment
- Support coordination with maintenance contractors
- Create detailed error, repair, and maintenance tickets
- Set up and operate mobile AV equipment for events
- Ensure proper handling of equipment in compliance with safety rules
- Update technical documentation and plans
- Provide input for technical specifications of upgrade projects
- Assist in preparing shopping carts for new equipment
- Act as backup for the team leader
- Prepare duty schedules
- Coordinate with meeting organizers
- Collaborate with supervisor and colleagues
- Backstop other team members as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
