Senior R&D Engineer – Vibration Technology & Innovation(m/w/x)
Developing IoT-enabled prototypes for smart vibration dampers. Physics-based modelling and system architecture definition required. 4-day work week, company car for private use.
Anforderungen
- Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, or related discipline
- 3+ years R&D experience in vibration technology, NVH, structural dynamics, or related engineering mechanics/mechatronics
- Strong analytical and simulation skills (FEA, MATLAB/Simulink, multi-body dynamics)
- Scientific rigour with entrepreneurial, results-oriented mindset
- Fluent English and German B2+
- Occasional travel to customer sites, Knorr-Bremse locations, and conferences (approx. 10%)
- PhD or equivalent research-level track record in NVH, vibration analysis, mechatronics, or related field
- Deep expertise in elastomer technology, pneumatics/hydraulics, IoT/smart sensor systems, or sensors/actuators/condition-monitoring
- Experience at intersection of mechanical engineering and digital/IoT product development
- Prior exposure to automotive or commercial-vehicle OEM development processes
Aufgaben
- Own the innovation lifecycle for smart vibration dampers
- Perform physics-based modelling and concept design
- Develop IoT-enabled prototypes
- Validate series production
- Define complete system architecture and digital components
- Scout and evaluate emerging technologies
- Conduct market analysis
- Engage in customer and OEM dialogue
- Participate in scientific conferences
- Translate findings into a product roadmap
- Define test strategies for components and products
- Coordinate testing programs with internal teams
- Coordinate testing programs with external partners
- Strengthen our scientific and engineering network
- Expand our network within Knorr-Bremse
- Expand our network with universities and research institutions
- Present technology strategy to customers
- Present technology strategy to OEM partners
- Present technology strategy to senior management
- Discuss technology strategy with customers
- Discuss technology strategy with OEM partners
