- Track record turning streaming best practices into adoptable standards
- Cloud-native mindset
- Hands-on with Kubernetes and IaC tooling
- Experience running production workloads on AWS or equivalent
- Ability to drive cross-team initiatives
- Clear communication of architectural trade-offs to engineers and leadership
Aufgaben
- Run Kafka at scale, ensuring reliability and uptime
- Design Kafka for high availability across domains and shards
- Engineer Kafka for resilience
- Ensure near-zero downtime during maintenance, upgrades, and failures
- Build the streaming platform's control plane
- Automate Kafka cluster lifecycle
- Provision Kafka topics and ACLs
- Implement cross-shard replication for Kafka
- Develop self-service interfaces for product engineers
- Define streaming best practices for producers and consumers
- Establish standards for topic design and schema management
- Guide consumer group patterns and reliability practices
- Embed best practices into the platform for ease of use
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Ensure full ownership of built and operated systems
- Shape the streaming platform roadmap
- Drive cross-team initiatives
- Align the streaming platform with engineering and business goals
