In this role, you will focus on standardizing and harmonizing data workflows across EMBL, collaborating with researchers to create robust data pipelines. You will also ensure that data handling aligns with FAIR principles while supporting staff training and communication.

Anforderungen

• •Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Computer Science, or related field
• •Experience building and executing scientific workflows
• •Excellent command of Python, R, and/or Julia
• •Understanding of open source scientific workflow platforms
• •Understanding of software engineering best practices
• •Desire to engage with open-source communities
• •Passion for supporting researchers
• •Strong abilities in cross-disciplinary collaboration
• •PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field
• •Experience with novel, emerging data types
• •Experience with infrastructure deployment and container orchestration
• •Experience with scientific workflows using HPC environments
• •Experience in writing efficient user documentation

Aufgaben

• •Develop strategies to standardize data formats and workflows
• •Implement harmonized data pipelines across EMBL's six sites
• •Collaborate with researchers on reusable and reproducible data pipelines
• •Support the development of local and pan-EMBL data management pipelines
• •Create solutions for integrating multimodal data
• •Embed FAIR principles in data handling processes
• •Contribute to onboarding and training of research staff
• •Facilitate communication and data flow within EMBL and with external scientists
• •Explore new methods and technologies for EMBL initiatives
