Anforderungen
- Master's degree in Environmental, Natural, Social, Economic, or Political Sciences, Environmental Ecology, or related field
- At least one year of relevant progressively responsible Citizen Science experience
- Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software solutions (open LCA, SimaPro, LCA for Experts) and databases (ecoinvent, Sphera)
- Proven quantitative data analysis experience (e.g., statistics)
- Proven record of publications, including academic papers, is an asset
- Experience in drafting complex reports, communications, and presentations required
- Basic experience in trans-/interdisciplinary research, including stakeholder interactions
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in different contexts
- Initiative, strong conceptual abilities, and sound judgment
- Flexibility with ability to establish priorities and work within timeframes
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
- Fluency in English required
- Fluency in German desirable
- Knowledge of another UN official working language is an asset
Aufgaben
- Design and implement research activities
- Embed Citizen Science in sustainability assessments
- Manage day-to-day research activities
- Support data analysis and collection
- Design and analyze questionnaires and case studies
- Conduct literature reviews
- Evaluate and examine research
- Contribute to scientific publications
- Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals
- Present research findings at conferences
- Assist with research studies and management reports
- Support grant proposal development
- Mentor and supervise master thesis students
- Co-supervise and mentor staff and researchers
- Contribute to teaching activities
- Prepare and organize capacity building materials
- Implement administrative regulations
- Identify and apply for funding opportunities
- Prepare and write research proposals
- Communicate with partners and donors
- Provide timely updates to partner organizations
- Organize and contribute to stakeholder meetings
- Contribute to project deliverables and reports
- Oversee development of online tools
- Contribute to institutional development
- Maintain networks with stakeholders and research institutes
- Represent UNU-FLORES at conferences and events
- Translate research findings into policy briefs
- Promote Resource Nexus approach through social media
- Create communication materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
